~Welcome to Toronto's First Kimono Club!~
The goal of the club is to:
The Toronto Kimono Club (TKC) plans to do this by hosting our own events to share and teach others how to wear wafuku and to promote Japanese clothing and culture in the general population. We will also find events related to Japanese culture that club members may like to attend dressed in kimono. The events will be announced in the News and Events page, as well as our Facebook group. We want to spread the kimono love throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
*Please note that although we do appreciate wa-loli and cosplay/costuming, the goal of this club is to wear kimono as a daily fashion. Different styles of kimono wearing are welcome, such as kimono-HIME, Nagoya-jo, retro-inspired, Taisho-era, and more.
- arrange events & meet-ups for people to wear their wafuku/kimono
- provide an avenue for those interested in Japanese clothing to meet others with similar interests
- promote the wearing of Japanese garments by all individuals regardless of cultural background
- share and learn from one another regarding aspects of kimono and Japanese culture
- promote the spirit and beauty of Japanese kimono and encourage cultural understanding
