We can provide a variety of consultation services depending on what you are looking for. Although we do not charge for this service, we would greatly appreciate donations made to the Toronto Kimono Club. Donations would help cover the cost of rental space for holding workshops and kitsuke lessons.

Consultation services available to help you determine what you can about the items you possess. Information includes identifying motifs, seasonality, type of kimono or obi, age appropriateness, and maybe more.
Do you want advice on what obi to wear, or what is appropriate for the event you're attending?
We can also offer advice and recommendations on pairing up the items you have on hand to suit the Time, Place, Occasion [TPO] of the event. We can also make recommendations based on what is available online if you are looking to purchase.
Do you want constructive advice on your kitsuke, based on photos?
We can offer constructive comments based on photographs, and depending on what the comments are, back it up with other images sourced from books & the web. Your kitsuke would be critiqued by Erica, who has received over 1000 of tutelage from a certified instructor of the Sodo Kimono School, which was founded by Yamanaka Norio.
Are you a costumer/cosplayer and want advice on a particular outfit?
If you're a costumer or cosplayer and want to recreate an outfit that you think is kimono, or at least based on one, but aren't sure where to start, please feel free to contact us and we'll provide you with whatever information we can that we think will be helpful. You'll receive the opinion of someone who has been sewing/costuming for a over a decade, including how we'd personally approach making the outfit, along with pattern and material suggestions.
